Employee Spotlight: Cory Miller
Position: Paramedic
Division: Stillwater, OK
Cory is a paramedic and a field training officer for LifeNet in Stillwater. He has been part of the LifeNet family since 2013.
“I have always been around the first responder life, and being a paramedic just seemed like a good fit. I love being the help when someone needs it,” he said. “I also like training new EMTs.”
The thing he enjoys most about working at LifeNet is the call volume.
“It’s small enough that we don’t get overwhelmed but busy enough that we can’t get complacent,” Cory said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Cory offers this advice: “Don’t rush into it. Think about long term plans. Decide this is what you want to do. Learn as much as you can as an EMT, figure out how things flow, and then go to paramedic school. Once you are a paramedic, never stop learning. This is a career that doesn’t pay well for the amount of responsibility and knowledge you need to know, so love what you do.”
When Cory isn’t working at LifeNet, you’ll probably find him working in a garage with his daughter. He stays busy at the automotive detail shop he owns and also loves building motorcycles and trucks. He also enjoys being with his family and just relaxing at the house.
