Andy Vance, Paramedic, Texarkana

Employee Spotlight: Andy Vance
Position: Paramedic
Division: Texarkana, TX

Andy first started working for LifeNet’s Texarkana Division part-time in December of 2016 as an EMT and joined us full-time a few months later. In August of 2019, he received his paramedic certification.

“It was always a goal of mine to be able to help people. Becoming involved in EMS gave me the opportunity to help when it matters the most,” he said. “Working at LifeNet has given me the opportunity to give back to my community.”
He enjoys the diversity of working as a paramedic.

“No two calls are ever the same,” he said. “I enjoy being able to adapt and use problem solving skills in an ever-changing environment. It is a challenge, but enjoyable.”

For others considering a career in EMS, Andy offers this advice: “Being involved in someone’s emergency is very personal. Having the capability to ease a patient’s pain, or help them remain calm during a traumatic event is critical.”

Family is very important to Andy, so when he is not on duty, he enjoys spending time at home with his wife and children.
