More than two dozen first responders attended a Landing Zone Class on Saturday, September 22nd, taught by LifeNet Air. The class included instruction on how to setup a safe landing zone for a medical helicopter, how to identify hazards in a landing zone, and the types of injuries and illnesses that are better suited for air medical transport.
The class was taught at the Miller County Training Center by LifeNet Clinical Coordinator & Flight Medic Randy Bean.
Firefighters representing Doddridge VFD, Pleasant Hill VFD, Boggy Creek VFD, Genoa VFD, Glen Rose VFD, Sattelite VFD, the City of Fouke Fire Department, Brightstar VFD, and Mandeville VFD, along with representatives from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office and the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department attended the class.
Area first responders help establish landing zones for medical helicopters at motor vehicle accident scenes and other emergency responses. LifeNet Air truly appreciates everything each individual does for us on scene to ensure we quickly and safely get patients transported away from the scene and to the appropriate care facility.
